Firstly this weeks report begins with sad news. Les Ingram has lost his battle with cancer, a fine cricketer, Wicketkeeper, Groundsman, fixture secretary and a great friend to many, the North East Durham league has lost one of its finest members. Les will be remembered by many for his tireless work as the league fixture secretary - sorting through the many sheets which arrived on his doormat. But a man of local cricket to the last he maintained the grounds of east rainton but more importantly Chilton Moor, a club he supported and played for until the age of 75. Overall the league is worse off for the loss of Les, a true gentleman, rest in peace mate.
