Belmont and cup final 2

The firsts travelled to Belmont in our closes away game. Batting first rainton reached 196 all out. Zak Waite 57, Lee Henderson 68, Michael Robbie 0, Alan Maskell 3, Muhammad Hussein 18, Will Orchin 6, Chris Valance 1, Chris Paton 21 not out, Anthony Ashman 1, Scott Taylor 2, Luke Richardson 0. With C Smith taking 6 for 24. In reply Belmont reached 107 with the bat, J Hallyday providing 23. With Will Orchin 1 for 35, Scott Taylor 3 for 40, Chris Paton 3 for 17 and Zak Waite 3 for 10.

The seconds played there final game at home to Belmont seconds. Batting first on a difficult sticky wicket (sorry lads), reaching 156 for 9. Neil Matthews 41, Kieran Paton 24, Andrew Lormor 8, Colin Henderson 1, Scott Gillen 8, Connor Henderson 6, Graham Avent 17 not out, James Messer 7, Darren Portrey 3 and Derrick Steinberg 5 not out. With N Pennal taking 4 for 38. In reply Belmont batted the overs out reaching 126 for 6. With P Hello making 33 not out. The bowling was, Andrew Lormor 2 for 15, Derrick Steinberg 1 for 20, Glenn Moody 1 for 4, Darren Portrey 0 for 8, Connor Henderson 1 for 26, Kieran Paton 0 for 18, Graham Avent 0 for 13 and Colin Henderson 0 for 15. 

On Sunday the Hazard played host the the Amos Lowing final, East Raintin vs Kimblesworth. Kimblesworth batted first on a stunning looking hazard ground. Reaching 163 for 5 off the 40 overs, with D Punchon reaching 33, S Emerson 31 and  N Graham 26. With Darren Portrey 0 for 34, Derrick Steinberg 0 for 28, Muhammad Hussein 1 for 26, Glenn  Moody 1 for 25, Saud Ahmed 1 for 18 and Connor Henderson 1 for 24. After a superb tea Rainton set about the chase. Riley Blunt opened with 8, Alan Maskell 19, Michael Williamson 36, Muhammad Hussein 19, Tom Rennie 38 not out and Connor Henderson 25 not out seeing us to a 6 wicket victory with 5 overs to spare. So by securing our first silverware of the year. Tom Rennie was awarded man of the match on his retirement from cricket and the umpires, tea ladies, groundsman and scorers were all thanked by Chairman Brian Barass in the trophy presentation.
