After tea the injuries began, Neil Matthews added 10, Scott Gillan 1, Luke Richardson top scored with 66. Tom Rennie 9, Rachel Petherick retired hurt 4, Chris Valance , James Messer 6, Roy Hardwick 6, Jack Holding 22 (interesting decision by all accounts), Bob Batey 12 not out and Derrick Steinberg 5. Leaving us 19 runs short.
The seconds travelled to Belmont and won their first game of the year by a single wicket. Batting first Belmont made 158 all out. With Ian Kitching taking 1 for 20, Glen Moody 3 for 31, Adam Bell 4 for 35, Kieran Burrell 2 for 48 and Adam Thwaites 0 for 17.
After a ver nice tea, Colin henderson opened the Batting, going on to make 89, the bulk of our innings. His opening partner Graham Avent was lost for 1, Adam Thwaites 2, Ralph Richardson for 10, Glen Moody 0. The innings was then steadied by Michael Petherick with a fine 27, before he too was bowled. Adam Bell 0, Kieran Burrell 2, Michael Wildish 1, the final runs were scored by Ian Kitching who hit the only 6 of the innings and ended on 18 not out with Robert Kitching 0 not out.
Well done to Michael Wildish and Kieran burrell on their first games for Rainton and Adam Thwaites and Michael for acting as sub Fielders during the Belmont innings.
