No first team game this week. 
The seconds managed to finish their game versus Kibblesworth before the rain, thunder and hail arrived. Kibbleworth batted first reaching 32 all out. Bowling stats were Scott Taylor 2 for 9, Darren Portrey 3 for 11, Manav Seth 2 for 0 and Connor Henderson 3 for 10. In reply we struggled to reach the total losing four wickets including a hat trick for E Roberts. Colin Henderson 24 not out, Gary Goyal 1, Roy Hardwick 0, Michael Robbie 0, Bob Batie 0 and Connor Henderson 3 not out.

Week 5

The firsts started the day sat in third for a visit to table topping Hunwick.  The home team batted first reaching 144 all put with 44 from R Breen. On the bowling front Chris Valance 1 for 12, Brad Davis 0 for 23, Derrick Steinberg 1 for 39, Rachel Petherick 2 for 31, Manav Seth 2 for 25  and Connor Henderson 3 for 9. 
We got off to a great start thanks to 69 from Neil Matthews, 3 from Roy Hardwick, and a duck from Luke Richardson. Lee Henderson chipped in with 46, Michael Robbie 0, Connor Henderson 0, Chris Valance 9, Rachel Petherick 1, Brad Davis 0, Manav Seth not out 1 and Derrick Steinberg not out 1 saw us reach the target with just one wicket left. Luck was on our side today. 

It was a win for the seconds today too at home to Tantobie.  The visitors batted first reaching 132 all out thanks to 47 from A Awan and a last wicket stand by Trevor and Norman. The bowling figures saw Ian Kitching 2 for 30, Darren Portrey 1 for 51, Glen Moody 4 for 21, Sunni Khan 1 for 20 and A Bell 1 for 3. In reply Colin Henderson 47, Steve Hutchinson 13, Bobby Batey 0, Sunni khan 9, Tom Rennie 4, James Messer 27 not out, G Paisley 3 and Darren Portrey 22 not out saw us to 133 for 6. So two good wins for the lads.

Week 3 and 4

Week 3
both teams lost to Wearmouth. The firsts travelled to Carely Hill, Wearmouth batted first reaching 161 all out.  Chris valance took 2 for 25, Manav Seth 1 for 32, Derrick Steinberg 2 for 41 and Connor Henderson 4 for 60. In reply we struggled to 84 all out. Neil Matthews 0, Lee Henderson 0 and Luke Richardson 0 all fell in the first over. Michael Robbie 0 came next, Alan Maskell added 19 to finally get us on the board.  Tom Rennie 18, Chris valance 0, Connor Henderson 8, Scott Dillon 14, Manav Seth 18 and Derrick Steinberg not out 1 closed the innings. Will Orchin 4 for 18 and Chris Paton 4 for 13 both ex Rainton men bowled well. 
The seconds also lost. Reaching 56 all out. Colin Henderson 22, Bobby Batie 2, Roy Hardwick 9, James Messer 6, Rachel Petherick 3, Stephen Hutchinson 1, Richard Harrison 1, Darren Portrey 3, Graham Avent 0, Ravi Mann 4 and Glen Moody 1 not out. In reply Wearmouth lost 7  chasing the total, with Darren Portrey 4 for 32 and Rachel Petherick 3 for 16 taking the wickets.

Week 4 saw another two losses. We were kno ked out of the Glenn Pattison memorial trophy by Hunwick.  They batted first reaching 213 for 3 whilst we reached 94 in reply. 

on Saturday the second slot to table topping Burnhope. Batting first rainton reached 170 for 9. Colin Henderson 30, Bobby Batie 0, Roy Hardwick 26, Lee Henderson 17, Connor Henderson 51 not out, Manav Seth 0, Tom Rennie 1, Scott Gillan 2, James Messer 6,  Darren Portrey 19 and P Nair 3 not out. Burnhope passed the total for the loss of 4 wickets. Our  bowling was: P Nair 0 for 24, Darren Portrey 0 for 22, Connor Henderson 2 for 60, Manav Seth 2 for 19, Bobby Batie 0 for 13, James Messer 0 for 16, Scott Gillan 0 for 5 and Lee Henderson 0 for 5. 

4 losses in two weeks so not a brilliant report. But let's hope for more luck next week against Hunwick and Tantobie.
