Week 4
Both teams faced hard games against Hylton and Murton. The firsts faced Hylton CW, rainton batted first reaching 140 all out. Neil Matthews 0, Ben Storey 13, Luke Richardson 36, Lee Henderson 39, Connor Henderson 8, Stuart Archbold 0, Kieran Hill, Roy Hardwick 26, James Messer 7, Chris Valance 0 and Derrick Steinberg 3 not out. In a close game Hylton were bowled out for 127. With Chris Valance 0 for 18, Kieran Hill 3 for 31, James Messer 2 for 27, Derrick Steinberg 2 for 9 and Connor Henderson 2 for 34. The seconds travelled to Murton. Rainton batted first making 158 for 7, with Scott Gillan 51, Tom Rennie 18, Luke Johnson 4, Kieran Burrell 1, Ben Mummery 7, Rachel Petherick 45, Grant Wilson 0, Glen Moody 1 not out and Jordan Bell 0 not out. After tea Murton were bowled out for 75, with Scott Gillan 1 for 4, Kieran Burrell 3 for 15, Rachel Petherick 0 for 9, Glen Moody 4 for 15 and Jordan Bell 2 for 28. Week 5 The first team travelled to Bill Quay and sadly were on the losing end of a high scoring game. The home side batted first making 221 all out, with Chris Valance 2 for 40, Kieran Hill 2 for 36, James Messer 4 for 50, J Wilkinson 0 for 29 and Derrick Steinberg 2 for 28. Unfortunately we fell just short by 11 runs. Neil Matthews scoring 39, J Wilkinson 2, Lee Henderson 14, Stuart Archbold 46, Roy Hardwick 4, James Messer 10, Kieran Hill 37, Chris Valance 1, Kieran Burrell 21 not out, Derrick Steinberg 5 and Grant Wilson 3. Second team free weekend. Unfortunately two losses this weekend, but it must be remembered that both teams were top of the division and were playing at a higher level than us last year. So to run both teams close is good to see.
The firsts travelled to Littletown and we batted first, making 89 all out. Neil Matthews 1, Ben Storey 12, Luke Richardson 3, Lee Henderson 18, Connor Henderson 6, Jack Holding 14, Stuart Archbold 6, Roy Hardwick 9, James Messer 1, Chris Valance 13 and Derrick Steinberg 0 not out. After the interval we took 7 wickets as littletowm crept past the target. Chris Valance 1 for 33, Derrick Steinberg 2 for 21, James Messer 1 for 31 and Jack Holding 3 for 3. At the Hazard, the seconds entertained Dawdon colliery. Dawdon batted making 169 all out. With Grant Wilson 1 for 38, Ian Kitching 0 for 12, Kieran Burrell 1 for 26, Rachel Petherick 3 for 20, Glen Moody 3 for 21, J Spicer 1 for 25 and Ben Mummery 1 for 15. We however fell 32 runs short, with Rachel Petherick 22, Grant Wilson 16, Kieran Burrell 2, Ben Mummery 40, J Barnes 0, Glen Moody 13, J Spicer 11 not out, A Carse 8, Tom Rennie 0, Colin Henderson 0 not out, Ian Kitching DNB. |
