This week saw us play Kimblesworth who sattop of Division 1 and second in Division 2, unfortunately we ended up on the wrong side of both results.
Rainton batted first in the division 1 game, Neil Matthews 8, Chris Valance 16, Michael Robbie 0, Michael Williamson 36, Luke Richardson 7, Chris Paton 3, Will Orchin 8, Brad Davis 8, Anthony Ashman 25 and James Messer 4 not out, 127 all out. After tea L Wright 40 runs saw Kimblesworth over the line by 7 wickets. Our bowling figures were Will Orchin 2 for 40, Brad Davis 0 for 37, Chris Paton 1 for 36 and Chris Valance 0 for 12. The seconds travelled to Kimblesworth sitting top of Division two to play second placed Kimblesworth. Kimblesworth won the toss and batted. Scott Emerson top scored with 197 as they massed a monumental score of 313 for 4. Our bowling figure were Darren Portrey 1 for 71, Derrick Steinberg 2 for 58, Glenn Moody 0 for 23, Connor Henderson 1 for 69, Chris Simpson 0 for 29 and Scott Gillan 0 for 52. After tea we made a good attempt at chasing the total but ultimately we fell 101 runs short. Colin Henderson 35, Steve Hutchinson 20 retired hurt, Stuart Archbold 17, Connor Henderson 3, Manna Seth 18, Tom Rennie 70, Scott Gillan 4, Darren Portrey 0, Glenn Moody 6, Chris Simpson 6 and Derrick Steinberg 30 not out. The first travelled to Hunwick for another tough match, Batting first Rainton reached 192 for 5. Neil Matthews 67, Tom Rennie 28, Michael Robbie 43 not out, Chris Valance 6, Will Orchin 2, Luke Richardson 15 and Lee Henderson 18 not out. In reply Hunwick were 108 all out, with Brad Davis 2 for 25, Chris Valance 3 for 42, Ian Kitching 3 for 19 and Will Orchin 2 for 5.

Dare Portrey 3 for 25, Manna Seth 1 for 15, Derrick Steinberg 3 for 38, Richy Harrison 0 for 18, Glenn Moody 1 for 30 and Kit Kumar 2 for 6. In reply with the bat Colin Henderson 39, Steve Hutchinson 24, Stuart Archbold 51 not out , Manna Seth 11, Scott Gillan 13, Darren Portrey 1, Glenn Moody 6 not out. Saw us over the line. Sundays first team game versus Simonside was not played due to a waterlogged pitch. Not a great week for the club, with both teams losing but all credit to Beamish. The firsts lost the first home game of the season, Batting first Beamish reached 156 for 9 with J Stafford top scoring on 38. Ian Kitching 0 for 15, ChriS Valance 1 for 36, Will Orchin 6 for 46 and Chris Paton 2 for 50 were today's bowlers.
In reply it didn't tart well with Neil Matthews 5 and Lee Henderson 0 opening the Batting. Michael Robbie add 9 before allowing Luke Richardson to the crease, he batted serbly on his birthday to reach 65 not out at the end of the innings. At the other end, Will Orchin 6, Chris Valance 10, Connor Henderson 0, Anthony Ashman 5, Chris Paton 15, Scott Gillan 0 and Ian Kitching 0. Left us 33 runs short of the Beamish total. Whilst away at Beamish the seconds faired little better. Losing the toss and Batting first Rainton reached 110 all out. Colin Henderson 28, Tom Rennie 4, Stuart Archbold 24, Manna Seth 0, James Messer 5, Rich Harrison 7, Darren Portrey 10, Graham Avent 5, Robert Kitching 1, Derrick Steinberg 11 and John Murray 0 not out. After a nice tea (chilli today) beamish batted and we're 70 for 9. However a superb rear guard action by I Dowson 58 not out and young D Brunton 4 not out saw them over the line.
