Firstly a sad news for everyone at East Rainton. On Sunday long time club supporter and club Mam Angela Steinberg passed away. Our thoughts are with her son Derrick at this difficult time. RIP Angela. Funeral details will be announced later and we hope there will be a good attendence by club member to remember Angela and support Derrick.
THe firsts won, their first game of the season, although they remain bottom of the table they are now only 2 points behind Stanhope. They travelled to Beamish, and batted first. Neil Matthews top scored with 50 runs, Bob Batie 15, Luke Richardson 5, Jack Holding 7, James Messer 14, Scott Taylor 18, Roy Hardwick 0, Adam Thwaites 0, Glenn Moody 22, Derrick Steinberg 1 and Ian Kitching 1 not out, so a total of 147 all out. After tea Beamish were bowled out for 110 runs, with Scott Taylor 4 for 15, Derrick Steinberg 0 for 10, Glenn Moody 0 for 14, Ian Kitching 2 for 17 and James Messer 4 for 30.  So twenty points, well done lads.

The seconds faced Simonside and we're on the receiving end of a 143 run loss. Simonside batted first making 236 for 9. Scott Gill 2 for 29, Adam Bell 2 for 41, Kieran Burrell 0 for 30, James Batie 1 for 18,  Colin Henderson 1 for 34, Iain Hughes 0 for 17, Michael Petherick 0 for 42 and Grant Wilson 3 for 16.
After tea we were unfortunetly all out for 93 runs. Scott Gillan with 22 got us off to a great Boycott like start , Michael Petherick 1, Tom Rennie 15, Colin Henderson 24, Kieran Burrell 5, Iain Hughes 8, James Batie 0, Grant Wilson 7, Adam Bell 0, Michael Wildish 0 not out, Steve Hutchinson retired hurt 0.
so its a loss, but the lads redeemed themselves on Sunday.

Sundays visitors to the Hazard, we're Kibblesworth, who had scored 236 the day before. So we expected the worst, but we think they had used up their runs the day before.  As they were bowled out for 21, with Ian Kitching taking 6 for 10 and Glenn Moody 3 for 8. After a quick turnaround Bob Batie was undefeated on 8, Scott Gillan caught for 1, Colin henderson caught 6 and Tom Rennie not out 5. So we'll down lads. We maintain our position at fourth in the table.
