Sunday proved to be the busiest day of the weekend, with 4 rainton teams in action.
The Rainton Rockets & Jets hosted Littletown. Sadly it was a loss to both teams.
At the other side of the field, East Rainton Womens & Girls took to the field for their first ever game versus Castle Eden. The visitors batted first, being restricted to 72 for 2. Rainton however reached 30 for 6 in reply.
At 1.30 the second team hosted Hylton in what turned out to be a close game. Batting first Hylton reached 174 for 5. Rachael Petherick took 2 for 19, James Messer p for 31, Ben Sims 2 for 42, David Wales 0 for 30, Grant Wilson 0 for 20 and Phil Nathan 1 for 17. In reply Neil Matthews added 16, Phil Nathan 3, Ben Sims 52, Scott Gilan 15, Ralph Richardson 2, James Messer 29, Rachael Petherick 17, Grant Wilson 0, Ben Mummery 4, Darren Portrey added 12 to inch us to within 8 runs, before being caught leaving David Wales 2 not out.
